"What is in a name?... "

Click on the rose for an exploration of the ways Marilyn Manson's music and persona deliberately question traditional concepts of love and hate, beauty and ugliness, good and evil, faith and disbelief, fear and acceptance.

Marj my friend... (if I may call you that?)...I thik you too are very intential and good at questioning traditional concepts.

What is in a name you ask??? Names being intentional, representative and characteristic also freakishly seem to determine and match our destiny. Are all the Kathy's I know truly that similar by chance, or is it merely the first Kathy that I formed a relationship that somehow defined the future relationships with kathy's to come? Strange but true would you agree?

Yes, my friend! Does the name or the person come first? Should your name find you? Should you name yourself? Should your name be determined at birth by parents?

The naming of something does hold power. I felt it when naming my children, not wanting to negatively effect their destiny through my own agenda. How did you come to name your children?

I have always hated my name, the reason for which I have never really figured out... a discomfort, a disconnect, a feeling that it doesn't fit, or I don't fit it. Or perhaps another act of defiance? Who knows?
